Neither of us wanted to head home. But it seems we were here long enough for me to reset my equilibrium. I’ve had the one last week of summer I was craving.
While the city of Fairbanks is not normally on my top list of vacation destinations, it does host a couple of nice RV Parks and campgrounds if you know where to look. I knew right where to find River’s Edge RV Park.
This pretty campground has the added advantage of being reachable just a short distance from the Parks Hwy. No need to drive the RV through the streets of downtown Fairbanks.
Rhonda and I have been soaking up sunshine and mostly 70° temperatures at this quiet, well-maintained campground for the past four days. It was very literally just what the doctor ordered. ☀️

We lingered until just before the 11:00 am check-out time on Wednesday, saying “See you later” to a couple of neighbors and fellow dog-walkers. One last romp in the taller grass along the river’s edge and we were ready to roll.

As we hit the Parks Hwy, nose pointed south, I realized I was all right with it and was once again looking forward to the drive.

“A happy sun coma” Love that description!
