Odds and Ends- Mostly Odds

I’ve discovered that I seem to be less inclined to write when I’m in pain or depressed. Of course, being in pain is depressing, so maybe that’s one and the same. I tested my theory by going back over my list of the last 18 months of blog posts. It was easy enough to seeContinue reading “Odds and Ends- Mostly Odds”

The Shortest Journey

Starts with filling the gas tank. OK, not exactly poetic, but an essential part of any journey if you drive an RV. From the gas pumps, we moved along to the propane tank and had that topped off as well. Since we (Rhonda and I) are heading for another 3-4 days of dry-camping (boondocking), IContinue reading “The Shortest Journey”

I’ve been organizing my yarn stash - some purchased, but much more hand-spun. Either way, way more yarn than I realized. 😂 And this is only one door. I have two more “doors of yarn”. Oh my … and I still have two tubs to go through. Of course, this is only my YARN. My FIBER stash is twice this size. I wonder if I’d hit “fiber hoarder” status?
It was almost sunset (4pm) and in spite of high winds, our resident red squirrel appeared through the snowdrift for a late snack. He makes a hasty retreat when Rhonda spies him! Check out his burrow!
Happy New Year from our home to yours! 🥂🍻
My friend, Ruth, knit this hat - but I gathered the fiber and spun the yarn for it. The dark brown is Shetland sheep’s wool. The rest is a lighter wool blended with Abby, Falki and Libby fur. Those were 3 of my husband’s favorite dogs. ❤️ Aren’t the paw prints perfect?!
The warm winter hat I spun for my husband! It’s made from a blend of Shetland sheep’s wool and the undercoat of 3 of his favorite dogs.
Who knows the significance of this straggly stuffed doggy? Hint; I’ve treasured him for over 45 years … this time around. 🤍🖤🤍
