If I were a bird
I’d be a Chickadee,
And live high up in a big spruce tree.
If I were a bird
I’d be a Snowy Owl
With the night woods for a home.
If I were a bird
I’d be a Sand Hill Crane
And dance in a fresh-mown field.
If I were a bird
I’d be a glossy black Raven
And live at the edge of town.
If I were a bird
I’d be a red-breasted Robin
The orchard is where I’d thrive.
If I were a bird
I’d be an Eagle
With a nest on a cliff by the sea.
If I were a bird
I’d be a Starling
And live wherever I pleased.
If I were a bird …
If I were a bird …
If I were a bird, I’d be free.

Love the poem. And very appropriate for your bird-watching while we’re homebound this season… ♥
